Svetulka Island (which means "firefly" in Bulgarian) is a small, rocky island located near Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands. These islands are part of Antarctica, the coldest continent on Earth!
Svetulka Island is about 150 meters long and 90 meters wide. A narrow passage, only 20 meters wide, separates it from Osenovlag Island. Long ago, in the early 1800s, seal hunters used to visit this area. The island is named after a town called Svetulka in Southern Bulgaria.
