Sweet Water is a small town located in Marengo County, Alabama, in the United States. It was started in the 1840s. The town gets its name from Sweet Water Creek, a stream that flows nearby. In 2020, about 228 people lived there. This was a little less than the 258 people counted in 2010.

Sweet Water is in the southern part of Marengo County. It sits about 184 feet (56 meters) above sea level. The town is about 20 miles south of Linden, which is the main city of the county.

Alabama State Route 10 goes through Sweet Water. This road connects the town to Pine Hill to the southeast and Butler to the west.

The town of Sweet Water covers about 2.4 square miles (6.2 square kilometers) of land. Sweet Water Creek forms the southern edge of the town. This creek flows into Horse Creek, which then joins the Tombigbee River.

In 2010, there were 258 people living in Sweet Water. These people lived in 94 households. Most of the people (91.1%) were White. About 7.8% were Black or African American. A small number (1.2%) were from other racial backgrounds. Also, 1.2% of the people were Hispanic or Latino.
