Sykkuno was born in Southern California. His family background includes both Chinese and Vietnamese heritage. He has two sisters.
Sykkuno's Career
Streaming on Twitch
Sykkuno's Twitch account started on November 14, 2011. However, he began streaming regularly in April 2019. His friend, LilyPichu, who is also a streamer and part of OfflineTV, encouraged him to start.
Sykkuno quickly became very popular on Twitch. Many people liked his calm, friendly, and relaxed style.
Charity Streams and Events
In April 2021, Sykkuno took part in a special Among Us game. It was a charity stream on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Other famous people joined, including members of The Roots, streamers Valkyrae and Corpse Husband, and actors from Stranger Things, Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp. The money raised went to Feeding America.
In September 2021, Sykkuno held a surprise "subathon" stream on his Twitch channel. A subathon is a long stream where the streamer keeps going as long as people subscribe. His last Twitch stream before moving to YouTube was on April 30, 2022.
In May 2024, Sykkuno returned to streaming on Twitch. His contract with YouTube had ended.
Making Videos on YouTube
Sykkuno started making videos for the online game League of Legends in 2011. He posted these videos on YouTube.
He first used an older channel called "Sykku." Later, in 2012, he made a new channel named "Sykkuno." This new channel became his main one. Today, it mostly has clips and highlights from his Twitch streams.
Gaming Content and Face Reveal
Sykkuno continued to make videos mainly about League of Legends. Over time, he started making content for other popular games. These included Among Us and Grand Theft Auto V. He often played with other well-known gamers.
When he first started, Sykkuno only showed his gameplay and talked over it. He did not show his face until February 2020. This was when he began streaming with a webcam on Twitch.
In May 2022, Sykkuno announced a big change. He would leave Twitch to stream only on YouTube. He signed a special contract with YouTube. In August 2022, he also signed with United Talent Agency to help manage his career. His last YouTube stream before going back to Twitch was on May 3, 2024.
