Takuya Nozawa (野沢 拓也, born August 12, 1981) is a famous Japanese former football player. He was known for his skills as a midfielder.

Takuya Nozawa's Football Journey

Takuya Nozawa was born in Kasama, Ibaraki, Japan, on August 12, 1981. He started his professional football journey with the Kashima Antlers club in 1999. This club plays in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league.

Early Career and Rise to Stardom

When he was just 17 years old, Takuya played his first official game on April 10, 1999, against Kyoto Purple Sanga. In his early years, it was tough for him to play many games. This was because other great players like Mitsuo Ogasawara and Masashi Motoyama were also on the team.

But from 2005, Takuya started playing more often. He became a key player, usually playing as an offensive midfielder. This happened especially after Mitsuo Ogasawara moved to Italy in September 2006. During this time, his team, Kashima Antlers, won the J1 League championship three years in a row, from 2007 to 2009!

Moving to New Teams

In 2012, Takuya moved to another club called Vissel Kobe. He played regularly for them. However, at the end of the 2012 season, Vissel Kobe was moved down to the J2 League, which is a lower division.

In 2013, Takuya returned to his old club, Kashima Antlers. He played regularly at the start of 2013. But as the year went on, he played less often.

Later Career and Retirement

In August 2014, Takuya moved to Vegalta Sendai. He was a regular player for them until 2015. After 2016, his playing time started to decrease.

In 2018, he moved to Australia and joined the Wollongong Wolves club. In 2019, he came back to Japan. He joined FC Tiamo Hirakata, a club in the Japanese Regional Leagues. Takuya Nozawa officially retired from playing football at the end of the 2020 season.
