Tamron Hall (born September 16, 1970) is a well-known American journalist, TV host, and author. She is famous for her daytime talk show, Tamron Hall, which started in 2019. This show has won her two Daytime Emmy Awards. Before her own show, Tamron worked as a news reporter for NBC News and was an anchor for MSNBC. She also co-hosted Today's Take, which was part of the popular Today show. She also hosts Deadline: Crime on the Investigation Discovery channel.

Early life and education
Tamron Hall grew up in Luling, Texas. She went to Temple University and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1992. After college, she moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to start her career in television.
Career in TV News
Tamron's first job was at KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas. She worked there as a general reporter. In 1994, she moved to KTVT in Fort Worth, Texas, where she continued reporting for four more years.
From 1997 to 2007, Tamron worked at WFLD in Chicago, Illinois. She had many different roles there. She was a general reporter, a consumer reporter, and even hosted a morning show called Fox News in the Morning. Tamron often reported on local politics and covered many important news stories.
In July 2007, Tamron joined the national news channels MSNBC and NBC News. She even got to interview Barack Obama before he ran for US President in 2008. At MSNBC, she was a reporter and filled in as an anchor. She became well-known when she filled in for Keith Olbermann on his show Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
Hosting NewsNation
In 2010, Tamron Hall began hosting NewsNation with Tamron Hall. This show featured interviews with important people and covered news from the US, around the world, and entertainment. The show covered big events like the news from Ground Zero in New York City after the death of Osama bin Laden. It also covered the final space shuttle launch in 2011 and Hurricane Isaac in 2012. Tamron also encouraged viewers to share their thoughts on news stories using social media.
Working on The Today Show
On February 24, 2014, Tamron became a co-anchor of Today's Take. This was the third hour of The Today Show. She worked alongside Natalie Morales, Al Roker, and Willie Geist. This made her the first African American woman to co-anchor Today. When she signed her contract, she wore a jacket that belonged to the famous American singer and civil rights activist Lena Horne. Lena Horne has always been a big inspiration for Tamron. In 2017, Tamron decided to leave NBC to explore new opportunities.
Her Own Talk Show: Tamron Hall
In August 2018, Tamron Hall made a new deal with Disney–ABC Domestic Television. This deal was to create and host her own daytime talk show. The show was picked up by many TV stations across the country. On September 9, 2019, her self-titled talk show, Tamron Hall, officially started.
The Tamron Hall show quickly became very popular. In June 2020, the show received three Daytime Emmy Awards nominations. Tamron won the award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host. This was a special moment because she was the first new host to win that award since it began in 2015. She also won a Gracie Award in 2020 and dedicated it to Breonna Taylor. In 2022, she won her second Emmy for Informative Talk Show Host. The show has been renewed for several more seasons, showing its continued success.
Someone They Knew... with Tamron Hall
In November 2021, CourtTV announced that Tamron Hall would host a true crime series. The show is called Someone They Knew... with Tamron Hall. It first aired on January 9, 2022. The show was renewed for a second season in June 2022.
Other TV Appearances
Tamron Hall has also appeared on other TV shows. In 2014, she was on an episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls. She hiked with Bear Grylls in the Pink Cliffs of southwestern Utah. They climbed down cliffs and cooked a squirrel over a fire. She also made a guest appearance as herself on the soap opera General Hospital in September 2019.
As an Author
Tamron Hall is also a writer. Her first novel, As the Wicked Watch, was published on October 26, 2021. This book is the first in her Jordan Manning mystery series. She released her second novel in the series, Watch Where They Hide, on March 12, 2024.

In 2017, Tamron Hall started dating music executive Steven Greener. They got married in early 2019 and live in Harlem. On April 25, 2019, Tamron announced that she had given birth to their son.
Tamron is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She is also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
