Tanit Phoenix (born 24 September 1980) is a South African fashion model, actress, and makeup artist. She became well-known for her work as a model, appearing in many magazines and ad campaigns around the world.

Early life
Tanit Phoenix was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Her family background is a mix of Dutch and Irish heritage.
Career as a Model
Phoenix started her modeling career at the age of 14 in Durban, South Africa. A modeling scout discovered her in her hometown of Westville.
She quickly became successful and appeared in TV commercials for famous international brands. These included Adidas, Coca-Cola, Citroën, and Nivea. She was also the face of the Veet campaign for five years.
Her modeling work took her around the world. She appeared on the cover of many popular magazines. These included the South African editions of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, and GQ. She also appeared on the covers of German and South African Shape magazine. In May 2014, she was on the cover of Maxim South Africa.
Acting and Makeup Career
First Roles on Screen
Phoenix began acting with a small part in the 2005 movie Lord of War. In the same year, she was in an episode of the TV series Charlie Jade. In 2007, she filmed the movie Gallowwalkers with actor Wesley Snipes.
Major Film and TV Roles
In 2010, Phoenix starred in two movies. She was in the horror film Lost Boys: The Thirst and the comedy Spud, where she acted alongside John Cleese.
The next year, she was the narrator for the TV series Femme Fatales. She also had a small role in the movie Safe House and starred in the 2012 comedy Mad Buddies.
Phoenix also acted in the action movies Death Race 2 and Death Race 3: Inferno. She returned to her role as Eve Wilson in the sequel Spud 2: The Madness Continues.
Work as a Makeup Artist
In 2013, Phoenix worked as a makeup artist on the action film Hardcore Henry. She was the key makeup artist for the character Jimmy, played by her husband, Sharlto Copley. She created 11 different looks for his character in the movie.
Personal life
Phoenix began a relationship with actor Sharlto Copley in 2012. The couple got married on 15 February 2016, in Cape Town, South Africa. They announced they were expecting their first child on 1 January 2017.
Their family lives in both Cape Town and Los Angeles. Phoenix follows a vegan lifestyle.
