Tarfessock is a cool hill located in the Galloway Hills of Scotland. It's part of a smaller group of hills called the Range of the Awful Hand, which is itself part of the larger Southern Uplands. Tarfessock is known for being a bit rocky and uneven, which is why it's called a "craggy" hill.

It stands at about 694 meters (2,277 feet) tall. Even though it's a good size, it's actually the lowest "Donald" in its specific range. A "Donald" is a special type of Scottish hill that is at least 609.6 meters (2,000 feet) high and has a certain amount of drop all around it. When you look from a taller mountain called Merrick, Tarfessock is completely hidden by another hill, Kirriereoch Hill.
