A Look at Tarlton's History
Tarlton has a long history. It was first planned out and settled in 1801. Back then, it was known by a different name: Newellstown.
Near Tarlton, you can find the Cross Mound. This special mound was built a very long time ago by ancient people known as the Mound Builders. They lived in this area before Europeans arrived.

The village is located about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southeast of Columbus. Columbus is the capital city of Ohio.
