What Does Tarweed Fiddleneck Look Like?
The Amsinckia lycopsoides is a plant that lives for one year (an annual plant). It has a bristly feel, much like other fiddleneck plants. Its flowers grow in a coiled shape, which is called an inflorescence.
Each yellow flower is about one centimeter long and just as wide. The flower has five lobes, which are like small sections. These lobes have bulges that close up the center of the flower.
Where Does This Plant Grow?
While the tarweed fiddleneck is native to the Pacific region of North America, it has also spread to other areas. You can find it as an introduced species in places like Alaska, Texas, and New England. In Australia, this plant has become a common weed in areas where animals graze, like pastures.
