College Basketball Highlights
Tate George is famous for an amazing shot he made in college. This happened during the 1990 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. His team, UConn, was playing against Clemson.
With only one second left in the game, UConn was losing by one point. His teammate, Scott Burrell, threw a long pass across the court to George. George caught the ball, quickly turned, and shot from 15 feet away. The ball went into the basket just as time ran out! UConn won the game in an exciting finish.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, George played in the CBA. He was part of the Quad City Thunder team in the 1993–94 season. His team won the CBA championship that year.
George averaged 16.4 points per game for the Thunder. In the finals, the Thunder played against the Omaha Racers. They won the series 4–1, winning the last three games on the road. One game even went into double overtime, with George making a last-second shot to tie it.
