Before becoming Deputy Prime Minister, she was the Minister of Health and Social Development from 2007 to 2012. She also led the Accounts Chamber of Russia, which checks how the government spends money, from 2013 to 2018.

Early Life and Education

Tatiana Golikova was born in Mytishchi, a city in what was then the Russian SFSR, on February 9, 1966.

She went to the Plekhanov Russian Economic University. In 1987, she finished her studies there. Her main subject was labour economics, which is about how people work and earn money.

Career in Government

Tatiana Golikova started her career in government in 1990. She worked as an economist in the State Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. This department handles the country's money plans.

Working at the Finance Ministry

From 1990 to 2007, she held many different jobs at the Finance Ministry. She started as an economist and moved up to become a chief economist. Later, she became the Deputy Head and then the Head of the State Budget Department. She also led the Budget Policy Department.

By 1999, she was a Deputy Finance Minister. She became the First Deputy Finance Minister in 2002. These roles meant she helped manage Russia's national budget and financial plans.

Becoming a Minister

In September 2007, Vladimir Putin asked Tatiana Golikova to become the Minister of Health and Social Development. In this job, she was in charge of healthcare and social support for people in Russia. She also helped lead the Federal Antinarcotics Service. She left this position in 2012.

On May 18, 2018, Tatiana Golikova was chosen to be a Deputy Prime Minister. She joined Dmitry Medvedev's government. She kept her position when Mikhail Mishustin became Prime Minister in January 2020.

As Deputy Prime Minister, she focuses on social policy. This includes important areas like healthcare, jobs, and pensions. In January 2020, she was also put in charge of a special center. This center worked to stop the spread of the Coronavirus in Russia.

Personal Life

Tatiana Golikova is married to Viktor Khristenko. He used to be the Minister of Industry and Trade. They got married in 2003.
