The Vibrant Arena at The MARK is a large building in Moline, Illinois. It can hold up to 12,000 people for different events. This arena opened in May 1993.

When it first opened, it was called The MARK of the Quad Cities. Later, it was known as the iWireless Center and then the TaxSlayer Center. Since September 1, 2022, it has been called the Vibrant Arena at The MARK.

Today, the arena is home to two sports teams. These are the Quad City Steamwheelers, who play indoor football, and the Quad City Storm, a hockey team.

Exciting Sports Events at the Arena

The Vibrant Arena has hosted many exciting sports events. It has seen college basketball games, including tournaments for the Mid-Continent Conference. It also hosted the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament since 2016.

Basketball and Hockey Teams

The Quad City Thunder basketball team played their home games here from 1993 to 2001. Hockey has also been a big part of the arena's history since 1995. The Quad City Mallards played for 12 years.

Later, the Quad City Flames hockey team played for two seasons. The Mallards team then returned in 2009 and played until 2018. In 2018, the Quad City Storm hockey team started playing at the arena.

Arena Football Action

From 2000 to 2009, the arena was home to the Quad City Steamwheelers arena football team. They even won two championships there! The Steamwheelers returned in 2018 and now play in the Indoor Football League.

Other Sporting Highlights

The arena has also hosted professional wrestling events. These include the Great American Bash and King of the Ring pay-per-views. It also hosted many WWE shows like Raw and SmackDown.

Arena Setup for Different Shows

The Vibrant Arena is very flexible. It can seat up to 12,000 people for big concerts. It can also change into a theater, called The Theater at the TaxSlayer Center, in just six hours.

Seating Options for Every Event

For theater shows, like Broadway plays or family events, it seats 3,000 people. For some concerts, it can be set up as an amphitheater, holding 6,000 fans. For hockey games, about 9,200 people can watch the action.

Space for Trade Shows and More

The arena has a large floor space of about 31,000 square feet. This makes it perfect for trade shows and conventions. There are also meeting rooms and a spacious lobby. The biggest crowd ever was over 12,000 people for a Neil Diamond concert in 1996.

How the Arena Got Its Name

The arena's name has changed several times over the years. These changes happen when companies pay to have their name on the building. This is called "naming rights."

Past Naming Rights Deals

In 2005, a company called iWireless made a deal. The arena was then called the iWireless Center starting in 2007. In 2017, a new company, TaxSlayer, took over the naming rights. It became the TaxSlayer Center on October 1, 2017.

Current Name: Vibrant Arena

On August 17, 2022, the arena announced a new naming rights deal. This time, it was with Vibrant Credit Union. The arena officially became the Vibrant Arena at The MARK on September 1, 2022.
