History of Taylor Creek
Early Meetings and Conflicts
In 1855, an important meeting happened in Taylor Creek. Leaders of the Seminole people gathered here. They talked about how to respond to the growing pressure from the United States government. This meeting led to the start of the Third Seminole War.
First Settlers Arrive
The first European-American settlers came to Taylor Creek in October 1896. Peter and Louisiana Raulerson moved to the area from Fort Basinger, Florida. They were among the first non-Native American families to live there.
