Terrence Edwards (born April 20, 1979) is a former Canadian football player. He was a wide receiver for nine seasons. He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

He first signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2003. He played college football at Georgia. Terrence is the younger brother of Robert Edwards. Robert was also a football player.

College Football Star

Terrence Edwards went to the University of Georgia, just like his older brother. He played football there from 1999 to 2002. During his college career, he caught 204 passes. He gained 3,093 yards and scored 30 touchdowns.

He set a record for most receiving yards in the SEC. This record stood until 2013. As of 2023, his 204 catches still rank among the top ten in the conference. In his final year, 2002, he caught 59 passes for over 1,000 yards. He also scored 11 touchdowns that season.

Professional Football Journey

Starting with the Atlanta Falcons

After college, Terrence Edwards signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2003. He played in six games during that season. His first and only NFL catch was a 10-yard gain in November 2003.

An injury kept him from playing much in 2004. He was released from the team before the season started. He did not play in the NFL again after that.

Playing in the CFL

After a year away from football, Edwards joined the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2005. He later moved to the Montreal Alouettes that same year. With Montreal, he caught six passes in two games.

In 2006, still with Montreal, he caught 33 passes. He gained 393 yards and scored one touchdown.

Success with the Blue Bombers

Edwards signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in May 2007. This was a big turning point in his career. He became one of the top receivers in the CFL. He was second in receiving yards with 1,280 and tied for second in touchdowns with 9.

He was named an East Division All-Star multiple times, including in 2007, 2010, and 2011. Even at 33 years old, he continued to play well. The Blue Bombers extended his contract for two more years in 2012.

On February 18, 2014, Terrence Edwards announced he was retiring from professional football. He had a great career in the CFL.
