Terrence Alexander Jones (born January 9, 1992) is an American professional basketball player. He last played for Piratas de Quebradillas in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league. Before playing professionally, he was a college basketball star for the Kentucky Wildcats.

High School Basketball Star
Terrence Jones was a top-ranked basketball player in high school. Experts like Scout.com, ESPNU, and Rivals.com all listed him among the best players in the 2010 class.
Jones led his team, Jefferson High School, to win three state championships in Oregon. This happened between his sophomore and senior years. As a junior, he averaged 32 points and 13 rebounds per game. In his senior year, he averaged 30 points and 14 rebounds.
He was chosen to play in important games for young players. These included the 2010 Nike Hoop Summit, the McDonald's All-American Game, and the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic.
Choosing a College Team
Jones first decided to play for Washington in April 2010. However, he changed his mind. In May 2010, he chose to play for Kentucky instead.

College Career Highlights
Terrence Jones made a big splash in his first game for Kentucky. He scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. He and teammate Doron Lamb were the first freshmen in Kentucky's history to score 20 points in their debut game.
In January 2011, Jones set a new record for Kentucky freshmen. He scored 35 points in a game against Auburn University. This broke the previous record set by his teammate Doron Lamb.
The Wildcats team made it to the 2011 Final Four, which is a big achievement in college basketball. They lost a very close game by just one point. Jones and Lamb decided to stay at Kentucky for a second year. As a freshman, Jones averaged 15.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
Winning a National Championship
In his second year (sophomore year), Jones was part of a highly anticipated Kentucky team. On October 26, 2011, he scored an amazing 52 points in a school scrimmage game.
During the 2011–12 season, he averaged 12.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. That season, Jones helped Kentucky win their eighth national championship! This was a huge victory for the team.
After winning the championship, Jones and five other Kentucky players decided to enter the NBA draft. All six players were drafted, setting a record for the most players from one school drafted in the NBA.

Professional Basketball Journey
Houston Rockets (2012–2016)
The Houston Rockets picked Terrence Jones as the 18th player in the 2012 NBA draft. In his first year, he also played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA Development League (now G League).
On January 18, 2014, Jones had a career-best game. He scored 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks. He was one of the youngest Rockets players to score 30 points or more in a game.
Jones faced some injuries during his time with the Rockets. He missed many games in the 2014–15 season due to a nerve problem in his leg. He also had a partially collapsed lung later that season. In 2015–16, he dealt with a concussion and an eye injury.
New Orleans Pelicans (2016–2017)
Jones joined the New Orleans Pelicans in July 2016. On November 16, 2016, he scored 26 points while filling in for an injured teammate. He tied his career high with 36 points on January 23, 2017, helping his team win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He left the Pelicans in February 2017.
Milwaukee Bucks (2017)
In March 2017, Jones signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. He played in only three games for them before being released in April 2017.
Qingdao Eagles (2017)
Jones moved to China in August 2017 to play for the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles. He played nine games there, averaging 22.3 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. He later left the team in November.
NBA G League and Return to Rockets
After playing in China, Jones joined the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G League in December 2017. For the 2018–19 season, he played for the Erie BayHawks.
In February 2019, Jones signed a short contract to return to the Houston Rockets. He also spent some time with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers again. After his contract ended, he did not stay with the Rockets for the rest of the season.
TNT KaTropa (2019)
In May 2019, Jones went to the Philippines to play for TNT KaTropa. He had an amazing debut game, scoring 41 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. In his next game, he set new career highs with 43 points and 22 rebounds.
Jones continued to have strong performances, including another 40-point game. He also achieved his first professional triple-double (scoring double digits in three different stats) with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 16 assists. He later recorded two more triple-doubles in the same conference.
In August 2019, Terrence Jones was named the PBA's Best Import of the Conference. This is a special award for the best foreign player in the league.
