Thaísa Daher de Menezes (born May 15, 1987) is a famous Brazilian professional volleyball player. She is known for winning two gold medals in a row at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Thaísa has also won many awards for being the "Best Spiker" and "Best Blocker." Many people think she is one of the best Brazilian volleyball players ever!

About Thaísa Menezes

Thaísa Menezes was born in Campo Grande, a part of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her dad, Domingos de Menezes, was a serviceman, and her mom, Monica Daher, has family from Lebanon.

When she was younger, Thaísa loved swimming. She swam until she was 13 years old. Then, she decided to try volleyball, just like her brother Tiago.

A year later, she joined the youth team at the Tizhuk club. There, she was coached by Julio Cugna, who was great at helping young athletes. In 2002, when Thaísa was just 15, she joined the Minas team. This was one of Brazil's strongest teams.

That same year, she won her first medal with the Minas team, earning a silver medal in the Brazilian championship. Also in 2002, Thaísa played for both the youth and junior national teams for Brazil. She helped them win two South American championships. The next year, she became a world champion with both the youth and junior teams.

Thaísa's Amazing Career

Thaísa Menezes has had a very successful career in volleyball. She has won many medals and awards with her national team and different clubs.

Olympic and World Success

Thaísa was a key player for the Brazilian team that won the gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Four years later, she helped her team win another gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Most recently, she won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

She also won a silver medal with Brazil at the 2010 World Championship in Japan. In 2014, her team earned a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championship in Italy.

Club Achievements

Thaísa played for Sollys Osasco and won a silver medal at the 2010 FIVB World Club Championship. She was also named the "Best Spiker" in that tournament.

In 2012, playing for Sollys Nestlé Osasco, Thaísa won a gold medal at the 2012 FIVB Club World Championship in Qatar. She was again named the "Best Spiker."

With Molico Osasco, she won a silver medal at the 2014 FIVB Club World Championship. She was recognized as the "Best Middle Blocker" in that championship.

Return to the National Team

Thaísa stopped playing for the national team in 2018. But in 2023, she decided to come back! She played in the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League and helped Brazil qualify for the Olympics. She was part of Brazil's team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After winning bronze there, she announced her retirement from the national team again.
