About the Show's Story
The cartoon series follows the Duke family as they race their famous car, The General Lee, around the world! The main characters are the Duke boys and their cousin Daisy. They are trying to win a big car race to get prize money. They need the money to save their family farm from being taken by the sneaky Boss Hogg.
Boss Hogg wants the money and the land for himself. So, he, Sheriff Rosco, and Rosco's dog Flash come up with all sorts of tricks to stop the Dukes from winning. Many of their exciting adventures are told by Uncle Jesse Duke, who reads them from postcards to his pet raccoon, Smokey.
Character Changes in the Show
When the cartoon first started, the Duke boys were Coy and Vance Duke. This was because the actors who played Bo and Luke in the live-action show were not available at the time. But in the second season, starting with episode 14, Bo and Luke Duke returned! The show even got a new introduction to show the change.
The Dukes' race around the world took them to many different places. They visited Venice, Morocco, the Arctic Ocean, London, Greece, India, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, and Scotland. Their journey didn't follow a straight line, making each stop a new adventure!
