Future Fun and Trouble
In the future, Elroy Jetson is working on a time machine. Meanwhile, his dad, George Jetson, visits his boss, Mr. Spacely. Mr. Spacely is worried because his business rival, Cogswell, is stealing his ideas. This puts George's job in danger. Spacely wrongly thinks George is helping Cogswell. To prove his innocence, George must spy on Cogswell.
George finds out that Cogswell's robot computer, S.A.R.A., is trying to get secrets from Spacely's robot computer, R.U.D.I. George tries to tell Spacely, but R.U.D.I. stops him.
Stone Age Struggles
In the Stone Age, Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble want to go on vacation to Honolurock. But Fred Flintstone ignores them. Later, at work, Fred tells Barney Rubble he has a better plan. He wants to go to a poker game at the Water Buffalo lodge.
However, their boss, Mr. Slate, tells them they must work late. His business rival, Turk Tarpit, is doing better than them. Fred and Barney ignore Slate's orders and go to the game. They try to hide when they see Slate there. Fred plays against Slate and loses. A spider reveals Barney, which then reveals Fred. Angry, Slate fires both Fred and Barney.
Time Travel Mix-Up
Back in the future, Elroy finishes his time machine. The Jetsons plan to travel to the 25th century for a relaxing trip. Just as Elroy is about to start the machine, their dog, Astro, accidentally sets it to "Past."
With no jobs, the Flintstones and Rubbles go camping instead. As Fred and Barney set up their tent, the Jetsons arrive from the future. Fred and George soon understand each other. The two families become friends. Fred is amazed by George's cool future gadgets. He decides to use them to help Mr. Slate in a company picnic competition.
Fred introduces George to Slate, saying George is a distant cousin. Slate is unsure at first. But since Turk Tarpit is causing problems, Slate agrees to their help. In return, Fred and Barney get their jobs back. George and Fred use future technology to help Slate win many games. But in the last game, Astro and Dino cause them to lose. Turk Tarpit wins, and Slate fires Fred and Barney again.
Families in New Times
While Mr. Spacely worries about his business, Henry Orbit and Rosie the Robot Maid build a "time machine retriever." They want to bring the Jetsons back. But when they turn it on, the time machine brings the Flintstones instead! Spacely sees they are real cavemen. He introduces them to the press.
Stuck in the past, George asks Mr. Slate for a job. Slate first says no. But when Tarpit offers George work, Slate quickly makes George his partner. George soon becomes very famous. The Jetsons use their new fame and money to buy many local businesses. They become very busy.
Meanwhile, Mr. Spacely makes Fred the spokesperson for his company. But R.U.D.I. leaks this news to S.A.R.A. When Spacely introduces Fred to important investors, Cogswell introduces Barney instead. This causes a fight between Fred and Barney.
Rosie asks R.U.D.I. to help her and Henry fix the time machine. They need to find the Jetsons. S.A.R.A. appears and tells R.U.D.I. to get rid of Rosie. But R.U.D.I. decides to help get the Jetsons back and leaves S.A.R.A. for good. They fix the time machine, and Rosie goes to the Stone Age. She finds her family there.
Going Home
Now able to return home, the Jetsons leave. They take Fred's car with them after Judy Jetson says goodbye to a teen idol named Iggy. Mr. Spacely plans to use Fred's car to make new futuristic cars. Cogswell sends his robot dog, Sentro, to steal this information. S.A.R.A. is no longer useful to him.
The two families work together to stop Sentro. They destroy the information he collected. Spacely's business of selling Stone Age style cars becomes very successful. He even sells one to Cogswell. But he warns Cogswell not to copy it, or he will sue him. Fred and Barney become friends again. Spacely lets George keep his job. George offers his partnership with Mr. Slate to Fred and Barney. This gives them their jobs back.
Just as they are about to leave, Elroy says the time machine is broken for good. Luckily, Fred's car absorbed the time machine's special power. This allows them to return to the Stone Age. The Flintstones and Rubbles say goodbye to the Jetsons and go back home.
