The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is a fun action-adventure game. It is the fifteenth game in the popular The Legend of Zelda series. Nintendo made this game for the Nintendo DS console. It was released in December 2009. Nintendo's president, Satoru Iwata, first announced the game. In Japan, it is called Zelda no Densetsu: Daichi no Kiteki. This means "The Legend of Zelda: Steam Whistle of Earth".
Story of the Game
The story of Spirit Tracks happens 100 years after the game Phantom Hourglass. In this game, Link is training to become a train engineer. He goes to Hyrule Castle to get his engineer's certificate. Princess Zelda gives him the certificate.
Zelda then asks Link to take her out of the castle. She wants to see the Tower of Spirits. Zelda thinks something bad has happened there. She believes it caused the Spirit Tracks to disappear. These tracks are special railway lines that crisscross the land.
On their way to the Tower of Spirits, the tracks suddenly vanish. Link's train crashes. The Tower of Spirits also breaks into many pieces. A horned demon named Cole attacks Link and Zelda. A fighter named Byrne is with Cole. Cole uses dark magic to separate Zelda's spirit from her body. He then takes Zelda's body away. Link must now help Zelda's spirit get her body back. He also needs to fix the Spirit Tracks and the Tower of Spirits.
How to Play
Spirit Tracks plays much like The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Players use the stylus on the Nintendo DS screen. You use the stylus to control Link. You also use it to use his weapons and items. You even control his train with it!
The game has two main parts. There is a large overworld map. Link travels across this map using his train on the Spirit Tracks. Then there are towns and dungeons. Link explores these places on foot. Players move through towns and dungeons to complete the main story. You can also do extra missions called side quests. These quests give you more rewards. In both towns and dungeons, you can draw notes on your map. This helps you solve puzzles and remember things.
