The New Fred and Barney Show was a fun cartoon show that brought back your favorite characters from The Flintstones! It was made by Hanna-Barbera and first aired on NBC in 1979. This show was special because it was the first time Henry Corden voiced Fred Flintstone in a regular series.

About the Show: Bedrock Adventures
This cartoon brought back the classic Flintstones characters. You'd see Fred, Barney, and their kids, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm. In this show, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were little kids again. (They had been teenagers in an earlier show called The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show!)
The episodes had familiar Flintstones stories. But they also included new adventures. Fred and Barney sometimes met witches and werewolves. The show even made fun of popular trends from the late 1970s.
A second season of seven new episodes was made. These new episodes, along with reruns, were shown as part of other cartoon blocks. These blocks were called Fred and Barney Meet the Thing and Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo. Like many cartoons from Hanna-Barbera in the 1970s, this show used a laugh track. This added sounds of laughter to the show.
Meet the Voices: Who Played Who?
The talented actors who gave voices to these characters were:
- Henry Corden as Fred Flintstone
- Mel Blanc as Barney Rubble and Dino
- Jean Vander Pyl as Wilma Flintstone and Pebbles Flintstone
- Gay Autterson as Betty Rubble
- Don Messick as Bamm-Bamm Rubble and other guest characters
- John Stephenson as Mr. Slate and other guest characters
