The Pyramid, also known as Pyramid Dome, is a special kind of volcano. It is called a lava dome. You can find it in British Columbia, Canada. It sits on the side of a larger volcano named Mount Edziza.

The Pyramid is a young lava dome. A lava dome forms when very thick, sticky lava pushes out of a volcano. This lava is too thick to flow far. Instead, it piles up around the vent. This creates a dome-shaped hill or mountain.
Where is The Pyramid Located?
The Pyramid is in the northern part of British Columbia, Canada. It is on the northeast side of Mount Edziza. It is also near the edge of the Tencho Glacier. This area is part of a larger group of volcanoes. This group is called the Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province.
When Did The Pyramid Last Erupt?
The Pyramid is part of the Mount Edziza volcano area. It last erupted a very long time ago. This was during the Pleistocene period. The Pleistocene period was a time when large ice sheets covered much of the Earth. This period ended about 11,700 years ago.
