The Ruff and Reddy Show (also known as Ruff and Reddy) was a super fun animated TV series from 1957 to 1963. It was the very first cartoon show made by Hanna-Barbera Productions, a famous studio that created many classic cartoons. The show follows the exciting adventures of two best friends: Ruff, a clever and steady cat, and Reddy, a kind and brave dog.
The series was shown on NBC and was presented by Screen Gems, which was the TV part of Columbia Pictures. It ran for three seasons and had fifty episodes in total.

About the Show
The Ruff and Reddy Show was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for their new cartoon studio, H-B Enterprises. This was their first big project! They had worked together before on the famous Tom and Jerry cartoons.
Unlike Tom and Jerry, who were often fighting, Ruff and Reddy were housemates and best friends. They always helped each other out. This show was one of the first original animated TV programs ever made. It also used a new way of drawing cartoons called limited animation, which helped make shows faster.

- In 1987, Ruff had a solo appearance in an episode of Yogi's Treasure Hunt called "Goodbye Mr. Chump." He played a newspaper seller.
- In 2017, Ruff and Reddy appeared in a comic book called Green Lantern/Space Ghost Annual #1. In this comic, they were shown as stand-up comedians from the 1950s who became TV stars. They also had their own six-issue comic book series.
