The Save-Ums! facts for kids

The Save-Ums! is a fun Canadian CGI animated TV show about superheroes. It was made by Decode Entertainment. The series first aired on CBC Television as part of the Kids' CBC block on February 24, 2003. The last episode was shown on July 11, 2006.

What the Show is About

The Save-Ums are a team of six special characters: Jazzi, Noodle, Custard, Ka-Chung, Foo, and B.B. Jammies. They look very different from each other, but they all work together to help creatures who are in trouble.

Every episode starts with a call on their "adventure screen," which is like a video phone. Someone from their world calls to explain a problem that needs fixing. Then, some of the Save-Ums travel to where the problem is happening. They can go to three main places:

• Rock World: An island with a big mountain.
• Lava World: A tropical island with a volcano.
• Wave World: A world found under the ocean.

The Save-Ums always work as a team to solve the problem. After they help everyone, they return to their headquarters, ready for the next adventure!

Meet the Characters

The Save-Ums Team

• Jazzi is a purple girl with red pigtails. She really wants to talk to wild horses. She is sometimes scared of water, but she often leads the team on missions. Tajja Isen was her voice.
• Noodle (called Caboche in French) is a white dog-like creature. He is the smartest and most grown-up of the group. He often helps everyone make good choices. Noodle flies the subchopper, which can travel in the air or under the sea. Mark Rendall voiced him in Season 1, and Cameron Ansell in Season 2.
• Custard (Berlingot in French) is a cool purple and red character with cat ears. He drives the Zoomer, a boat that can go on water or snow. He goes on most missions and often says "Bam!" when he gets a good idea. Jordan Francis was his voice.
• Ka-Chung (Aïkido in French) is a red and white hippopotamus-like character. He is the strongest Save-Um and often shouts "Ka-Chung!" as his special phrase. He pilots the Ka-Drill, a machine that can dig tunnels. Mitchell Eisner voiced him.
• Foo (Louna in French) is a blue and yellow angelfish-like creature with long limbs. She is the youngest and kindest of the Save-Ums. She also goes on most missions and flies using a jet pack. Aaryn Doyle was her voice.
• B.B. Jammies (Bébé Jimmy in French) is Jazzi's younger brother. He has a purple head shaped like an American football. He is too young for missions, so he usually plays with the Puffs. Connor Price voiced him.

Other Friends They Meet

• Puffs are six small, fluffy characters. They live and play with the Save-Ums but do not go on missions. They sometimes help the team.
• Winston is a whale who wears glasses and lives in Wave World. He has a special garden underwater.
• Tony and Sal are two crabs who live in Wave World.
• Andre is a seahorse who lives in Wave World.
• Olena is an octopus who lives in Wave World. Sugar Lyn Beard was her voice.
• Raymundo and Peque are ants who live in Lava World.
• Oscar and Tina are monkeys who live in Lava World.
• Dino is a baby dinosaur. Raymundo and Peque often babysit him in Lava World.
• Colin and Elizabat are bats who live in Rock World.
• Dory and Terrell are glowgrubs who live in Rock World.

Where They Go

• Save-Um Central: This is the main headquarters and home for the Save-Ums team.
• Rock World: A world with a big rock that looks like a face. Bats and glowgrubs live here.
• Lava World: A world with a large volcano that also looks like a face. A dinosaur, ants, crabs, and monkeys live here.
• Wave World: This world is under the sea. A whale, a seahorse, an octopus, and small fish live here.

Episodes

The Save-Ums had 39 episodes, with each episode having two 11-minute stories. The show ran for two seasons.

Season 1 (2003)

The first season aired in 2003 and included many exciting adventures. Some episode titles were:
