In January 2016, DHX Media decided to build a big studio in Vancouver, British Columbia. This new studio would make both animated and live-action shows. Later that year, teams from two other studios, Studio B Productions (bought in 2007) and Nerd Corps Entertainment (bought in 2014), moved into this new building.
The studio has two main production teams. One team, from Nerd Corps, makes shows using computer-generated imagery (CGI). The other team, from Studio B, creates 2D animated shows, including those made with Adobe Animate.
By 2019, the Vancouver studio was the only one left in this part of the company. Other studios had either been sold or closed down.
