Story of Sonic Prime
During a big fight with Dr. Eggman, Sonic accidentally breaks a powerful crystal called the Paradox Prism. This crystal can change reality! When it shatters, it messes up the world and creates something new called the "Shatterverse."
The Shatterverse is like a multiverse with five different dimensions, or "Shatterspaces." Each of these new worlds was made from a piece of the broken Prism. In these worlds, Sonic's friends like Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Rouge, and Big exist, but their versions of Sonic are missing.
Sonic's Adventure Begins
Sonic first lands in New Yoke City. This is a futuristic, dark version of his home, Green Hill. It's ruled by a group of different Eggman versions called the Chaos Council. They used their Prism shard to take over the city. When they learn about the other shards, they want to collect them all to control the whole Shatterverse. Sonic and a group of rebels from New Yoke City try to stop them.
Sonic's main goal is to put the Paradox Prism back together. This will fix his original world, which became a dull place called Ghost Hill after the Prism broke. To do this, Sonic travels to other Shatterspaces to find the shards before the Chaos Council does.
Exploring New Worlds
Sonic visits places like:
- The Boscage Maze: A jungle world with wild versions of his friends.
- The No Place: A flooded world full of pirates.
- The Grim: A dry, empty wasteland.
Along the way, Sonic makes friends with the different versions of his pals. He helps them with their problems. For example, he meets Nine, the New Yoke City version of Tails. Nine is smart but doesn't trust others because he grew up without Sonic. He also meets Rusty Rose, the New Yoke City Amy, who was turned into a robot. She struggles to decide who to be loyal to. Dread, the pirate Knuckles from No Place, is obsessed with treasure, which causes problems with his crew.
Later, Sonic's rival, Shadow, who avoided the world breaking, reluctantly helps Sonic. When the Chaos Council's plans threaten the entire Shatterverse, people from all the different worlds join forces to fight them.
The Final Battle
Eventually, the Paradox Prism is put back together. But Nine, worried that fixing Sonic's world might destroy the Shatterverse, takes the Prism for himself. He wants to use it to turn the Grim into his perfect home. However, using the Prism's power this way starts to make the other Shatterspaces unstable.
Nine believes that the remaining Prism energy in Sonic's body is key to stabilizing the Prism. He creates an army of robot versions of Sonic and his friends to hunt Sonic down and take his energy, even if it means hurting him. This forces Sonic, Shadow, and the people from the Shatterverse to team up with the Chaos Council to stop Nine.
After a huge battle, Sonic and Nine make up. Nine realizes the bad things his actions caused. Rusty Rose joins the good guys after connecting with other Amy versions. Dread gives up his treasure obsession and makes Black Rose the new captain of his crew. The Chaos Council is sent away to a strange void for their bad deeds.
Sonic then decides to use his own energy to fix Green Hill and keep the Shatterspaces stable. This almost costs him his life. After saying goodbye to his new friends, Shadow helps Sonic get back to the original battle with Eggman. They stop Eggman from getting the Prism in the first place, preventing the whole mess from ever happening!
Who's Who in Sonic Prime
Here are some of the main characters and their voices:
- Sonic the Hedgehog (voiced by Deven Mack): A super-fast blue hedgehog. He can be a bit overconfident, but he really cares about his friends and protecting the world from Dr. Eggman. In the Shatterverse, his shoes give him different powers, like electricity or wall-climbing.
- Dr. Eggman (voiced by Brian Drummond): Sonic's main enemy. He's a super smart scientist who wants to use the Paradox Prism for his evil plans.
- Miles "Tails" Prower (voiced by Ashleigh Ball): Sonic's best friend. He's a genius fox who can fly using his two tails.
- Knuckles the Echidna (voiced by Adam Nurada): A strong red echidna who loves to punch things with his big fists.
- Amy Rose (voiced by Shannon Chan-Kent): A pink hedgehog who loves nature and uses her Piko Piko Hammer.
- Rouge the Bat (voiced by Kazumi Evans): A bat who loves jewels and works as a spy.
- Shadow the Hedgehog (voiced by Ian Hanlin): A black hedgehog whose speed is almost as fast as Sonic's. He wasn't affected by the Prism breaking and helps Sonic fix things.
- Big the Cat (voiced by Ian Hanlin): A large purple cat who enjoys fishing with his pet frog, Froggy.
- Orbot and Cubot (both voiced by Deven Mack): Dr. Eggman's not-so-smart robot helpers. Orbot is red and round, while Cubot is yellow and cube-shaped. They don't have other versions in the Shatterverse.
Characters from The Grim
- Tails Nine (voiced by Ashleigh Ball): This is Tails' version from New Yoke City. He built seven extra mechanical tails to get revenge on bullies. He starts as Sonic's friend but later becomes an enemy, wanting to use the Paradox Prism to create his own perfect world.
Characters from New Yoke City
- Rusty Rose (voiced by Shannon Chan-Kent): Amy's version from New Yoke City. She's a cyborg who was controlled by the Chaos Council. She later joins Dread's crew and forms a close bond with other Amy versions.

- Dr. Done-It (voiced by Brian Drummond): An older-looking Eggman who uses a laser cane.
- Dr. Deep (voiced by Vincent Tong): A philosophical Eggman who wears a suit with knives and buzzsaws.
- Dr. Don't (voiced by Vincent Tong): A lazy teenage Eggman who is good at programming and controls robots.
- Dr. Babble (vocal effects by Vincent Tong): A baby Eggman who is just as smart and strong as the others.
- Chaos Sonic (voiced by Deven Mack): A robot created by the Chaos Council that looks and acts like an exaggerated version of Sonic. He's similar to Metal Sonic.
Characters from Boscage Maze
- Thorn Rose (voiced by Shannon Chan-Kent): Amy's version from the Boscage Maze. She protects the forest and is accompanied by a giant pink bird named Birdie. She becomes like a sister to Rusty and Black Rose.
- Prim Rouge (voiced by Kazumi Evans): Rouge's version from the Boscage Maze. She leads the Scavengers, a group living in the trees.
- Mangey Tails (vocal effects by Ashleigh Ball): Tails' version from the Boscage Maze. He acts like a wild animal.

Episode Adventures
Sonic Prime has three exciting seasons, each with new challenges for Sonic and his friends!
Season 1: The Shatter Begins (2022)
In the first season, Sonic accidentally breaks the Paradox Prism while fighting Dr. Eggman. This creates the Shatterverse, splitting his world into many different dimensions called Shatterspaces. Sonic lands in New Yoke City, a dark future version of his home, ruled by the Chaos Council (different versions of Eggman). He meets Nine, a super smart version of Tails, and they team up with rebels to fight the Council. Sonic learns he needs to find the Prism shards in other Shatterspaces to fix his world. He travels to the Boscage Maze, a jungle world, and No Place, a pirate world, meeting new versions of his friends and trying to gather the shards. Meanwhile, Shadow the Hedgehog, who avoided the shattering, tries to understand what happened and confronts Sonic.
Season 2: New Challenges (2023)
Season two continues Sonic's quest to fix the Shatterverse. Shadow explains that their original universe is gone because of Sonic's actions, and they must work together to put the Prism back. The Chaos Council is also trying to collect the shards, leading to big battles in the Boscage Maze and No Place. Sonic and Shadow reluctantly team up, facing off against the Council and their new robot, Chaos Sonic. Nine, who was captured by the Council, helps Sonic from the inside. As they gather more shards, Nine reveals his own plan: he wants to use the Prism to create a new home in the Grim, a barren Shatterspace, believing it will save the Shatterverse from disappearing. This puts him against Sonic and Shadow.
Season 3: The Final Battle (2024)
In the final season, Nine uses the reassembled Paradox Prism to transform the Grim, causing the other Shatterspaces to decay. Sonic and Shadow confront Nine, who creates an army of robot clones of Sonic's friends to stop them. Sonic realizes Nine needs his unique Prism energy to stabilize his new world, even if it means hurting Sonic. Sonic escapes and gathers allies from across the Shatterverse, including the Chaos Council, to fight Nine's growing army. They work together in a massive battle inside Nine's fortress. Sonic tries to reason with Nine, making him realize the consequences of his actions. In the end, Sonic sacrifices his energy to fix the Prism, allowing his original world to return and the Shatterspaces to remain stable. The Chaos Council is banished, and Sonic returns to his original world just before the Prism was shattered, preventing the whole adventure from happening in the first place!
How Sonic Prime Was Made
Sonic Prime was first announced in February 2021. The show has 23 episodes in total.
A voice actor named Colleen O'Shaughnessey, who usually voices Tails, did not play him in this show. This was because of Canadian rules that say most voice actors in Canadian TV shows need to be Canadian. In May 2022, it was announced that Deven Mack would be the voice of Sonic.
The series was made by Man of Action Entertainment and WildBrain Studios. They also worked with Netflix Animation and Sega's animation studio, Marza Animation Planet. One of the writers, Duncan Rouleau, said the show takes place in the same world as the Sonic the Hedgehog video games. The executive producer, Logan McPherson, confirmed that the show's story fits into the games' timeline.
Ian Flynn, who has written for many Sonic comics and games, was a consultant for the show.
