The tilcayo (Leopardus tilcayo) is a tiny wild cat from South America. It belongs to the cat family and lives in the cloud forests of Bolivia. People living in South American mountains have seen the tilcayo for many years. However, world science did not have an official name for it. The last time scientists named a brand-new cat species was in 1923. That older discovery was the Pampas cat, known scientifically as L. fasciatus.
