Tim Wynne-Jones (born August 12, 1948) is a famous English-Canadian writer. He writes many kinds of books, especially for children and young adults. He has also written picture books, novels for grown-ups, and even songs for the TV show Fraggle Rock! He also created a children's musical and an opera story.

In 2012, Canada chose him as their nominee for the Hans Christian Andersen Medal. This is a big international award for children's writers.

About Tim Wynne-Jones

Tim Wynne-Jones was born in Bromborough, England, on August 12, 1948. When he was four years old, in 1952, his family moved to Canada. He grew up in British Columbia and Ontario. Today, he lives in Perth, Ontario.

He went to Ridgemont High School in Ottawa, Ontario. Later, he studied at the University of Waterloo and Yale University. He also sang in the choir at St Matthew's Anglican Church in Ottawa. He was even the main singer for a while! Now, he teaches writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts. He helps people learn how to write books for children and young adults.

Tim Wynne-Jones's Books

Tim Wynne-Jones wrote his first book, Odd's End, very quickly. It was published in 1980 and won a big award called the Seal First Novel Award. Since then, he has written more than 20 books! These include fun picture books, exciting novels for kids and teens, and stories for adults.

His books are very popular and have won many awards. He has won two Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards and three Governor General's Literary Awards in Canada. He also won the Arthur Ellis Award for crime stories and the Edgar Award for Young Adult Mystery. These awards show how much people love his writing!
