Time Stops for No Mouse is an exciting mystery novel for kids. It was written by Michael Hoeye. This book is the first in the fun Hermux Tantamoq series. It was first published in 1999. The story was even a finalist for a special award called the "Book of the Year" by Book Sense. It has three sequels: The Sands of Time, No Time Like Show Time, and Time to Smell the Roses.

Hermux's Big Adventure

The story starts with a mouse named Hermux Tantamoq. He is a watchmaker in a busy city called Pinchester. This city is full of animals like rodents, birds, and weasels. One day, a pilot mouse named Linka Perflinger asks Hermux to fix her wristwatch.

A Mysterious Watch

Later, a tricky rat tries to get Linka's watch from Hermux without her permission. Hermux bravely refuses to give it away. Soon after, he sees Linka being taken by other rats. These rats are working for the bad guy of the story, Dr. Hiril Mennus.

Uncovering a Secret

Hermux decides to find out what happened to Linka. He learns that Dr. Mennus and his helper, Tucka Mertslin, want to steal a special potion. This potion can make people young again! Linka's client, Dr. Turfip Dandiffer, had found the potion.

Danger and Disguise

A mole journalist named Pup Schoonagliffen helps Hermux. But Pup is actually Dr. Mennus in disguise! Hermux sneaks into Dr. Mennus's clinic. However, he gets caught. Dr. Mennus then puts Hermux and Linka in a very dangerous mousetrap.

The Potion's Power

To keep his helper, Tucka Mertslin, under control, Dr. Mennus memorizes the potion's recipe and then destroys it. But when he tries to use the potion himself, he makes a mistake. He accidentally turns himself into a baby!

A Happy Ending?

Luckily, Dr. Dandiffer's friend, Ortolina Perriflot, rescues Hermux and Linka. A few days later, Hermux wants to ask Linka to marry him. But he finds out she is already engaged to Dr. Dandiffer. Hermux then uses the last bit of the special potion to help his friend Mirrin Sentrill see again.
