Early Racing Days
Timo Glock started his racing journey in 1998 when he was 15 years old. He quickly became successful in karting championships. In 2000, he won the BMW ADAC Formula Junior Cup. The next year, 2001, he won the Formula BMW ADAC Championship.
In 2002, he moved up to the German Formula Three Championship. He finished third overall and was named "rookie of the year." In 2003, he raced in the Formula Three Euroseries. He won three races and had three other top-three finishes, placing him fifth in the championship.
Formula One Debut
Timo Glock joined Jordan Grand Prix as a test driver for the 2004 Formula One season. He made his first Formula One race appearance at the 2004 Canadian Grand Prix. He replaced another driver, Giorgio Pantano, for that race.
Glock finished 11th in his debut race. However, after some other cars were disqualified, he moved up to 7th place. This meant he scored two points in his very first Formula One race! He continued to race for Jordan in the last three races of that season.
Racing in America: Champ Car
In 2005, Glock decided to race in the United States. He joined the Champ Car World Series with the Rocketsports team. His best result was a second-place finish at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Canada. He finished 8th in the overall points standings. He also won the "Rookie of the Year" award for Champ Car that season.
GP2 Series Champion

In 2006, Glock returned to Europe to race in the GP2 Series. This series is often seen as the final step before Formula One. He started with the BCN Competicion team. Later in the season, he moved to the iSport team. He improved his results and finished fourth in the drivers' standings. He also won an award for being the "most improved driver."
In 2007, Glock continued with iSport in GP2. He had a fantastic season, winning one main race and four sprint races. He won the 2007 GP2 Series championship! After this success, he became the main test and reserve driver for the BMW Sauber Formula One team.

Toyota Racing (2008–2009)

After winning the GP2 Series, Glock signed a contract with Toyota F1 for the 2008 season. He replaced Ralf Schumacher at Toyota.
2008 Season Highlights
Glock scored his first points of 2008 at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix, finishing 4th. His best result of the season was a second-place finish at the 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix. He also finished 4th at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.
The 2008 Season Finale
The final race of the 2008 season was the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix. Rain started to fall during the race. Most drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, changed to wet-weather tires. However, Glock stayed on the track with dry-weather tires. This decision moved him up the order, ahead of Hamilton.
On the very last lap, Glock was in fourth place. But his dry tires were struggling badly as the rain got heavier. Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton both passed him in the final corners. Hamilton's pass meant he gained enough positions to win the 2008 Drivers' Championship. During the live TV coverage, commentator Martin Brundle famously asked, "Is that Glock going slowly?" This moment became well-known among racing fans. Glock finished the 2008 championship in tenth place.
2009 Season Highlights
In the 2009 season, Glock started strong. He finished 4th at the 2009 Australian Grand Prix. A week later in Malaysia, he finished 3rd in a rain-affected race. This was his second podium finish.
Glock earned his third podium of the season at the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix, finishing 2nd. This was a great result for him and the Toyota team.
During qualifying for the 2009 Japanese Grand Prix, Glock had a big crash. He suffered a leg injury and could not race. Toyota's test driver, Kamui Kobayashi, took his place for the last two races. At the end of 2009, Toyota decided to leave Formula One.
Virgin Racing (2010–2011)

In November 2009, Timo Glock signed with a new team called Manor Grand Prix. The team later became Virgin Racing. Glock was their main driver for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. His former GP2 rival, Lucas di Grassi, became his teammate.
The 2010 season was tough for Glock. He had three retirements in the first three races. He also could not start the 2010 Chinese Grand Prix due to engine problems. His first finish for the team was 18th place at the 2010 Spanish Grand Prix. His best result of the year was 14th place in Japan.
In 2011, Jérôme d'Ambrosio joined Glock at Virgin Racing. Glock continued to face challenges, including not starting the 2011 Turkish Grand Prix. In July 2011, he signed a new contract to stay with Virgin until 2014.
Marussia F1 (2012)
The Virgin Racing team was renamed Marussia F1 for the 2012 season. Charles Pic became Glock's new teammate. Marussia had some difficulties before the season, but Glock was able to compete in the first race.
Glock started the 2012 season well, finishing 14th in Australia. This matched his best finish with the Virgin/Marussia team. He continued to finish races, including 17th in Malaysia and 14th in Monaco. He had to withdraw from the 2012 European Grand Prix due to a stomach bug.
At the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix, Glock had his best result for Marussia, finishing 12th. This important finish helped Marussia move up to 10th place in the Constructors' Championship. He finished the 2012 season 20th in the Drivers' Championship.
Glock was expected to stay with Marussia for 2013. However, in January 2013, it was announced that he had left the team.

Glock has continued to race in DTM for many years, achieving several wins and podiums. He is still an active driver in the series.
Porsche Supercup Appearances

As a guest driver, he was not eligible to score points in these races.
