Todd Wallace Blanche, born on August 6, 1974, is an American lawyer. He currently serves as the acting Attorney General for the United States. He has held this important role since April 2026. Before this, he was the Deputy Attorney General starting in March 2025. He also became the acting librarian of Congress in May 2025, though some people have questioned if this appointment was done correctly.

Blanche studied at American University and Brooklyn Law School. For eight years, he worked as a prosecutor in New York, focusing on serious cases. Later, he became a partner at a law firm. He represented several people connected to former President Donald Trump and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani. These included Paul Manafort, Igor Fruman, and Boris Epshteyn.

In April 2023, Blanche joined the legal team defending Donald Trump in a New York case. This case involved payments made before an election. He also represented Trump in other federal cases concerning government documents and election-related matters. Blanche was the lead lawyer for Trump during his criminal trial.

After winning the 2024 presidential election, President Trump nominated Blanche to be Deputy Attorney General. The Senate approved his nomination in March 2025. In May 2025, Trump appointed Blanche as the acting Librarian of Congress. However, staff at the Library of Congress believed that another person, Robert Newlen, should have taken that role. In April 2026, after President Trump removed Pam Bondi as Attorney General, Blanche stepped in as the acting Attorney General.
