Pedro Tomás Reñones Crego (born on August 9, 1960), known as Tomás during his playing days, is a Spanish former football player. He played as a right-back.
Tomás was most famous for his time at Atlético Madrid. He played for them for 12 professional seasons. He was also a regular player for the Spanish national team in the late 1980s. He represented Spain in one World Cup and one European Championship.

Playing for Clubs
Tomás was born in Santiago de Compostela, a city in Galicia, Spain. After playing for his hometown team, SD Compostela, for one season, he joined Atlético Madrid in 1981. He first played for their reserve team, Atlético Madrileño.
Atlético Madrid Debut
Tomás made his debut in La Liga, Spain's top football league, in the 1984–85 season. After that, he always had a spot in the main team. He played a total of 483 games for Atlético Madrid.
Winning the Double
On May 25, 1996, when he was 35 years old, Tomás played his final game for Atlético Madrid. It was a home game against Albacete Balompié. He came onto the field in the 83rd minute. Even though he only played in 12 matches that season, he helped his team, known as the Colchoneros, win an amazing "double." This means they won two major titles in the same season: La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
Tomás retired from football completely in 1998. Before that, he played two more seasons in lower football leagues.
Playing for Spain
Tomás played 19 games, called "caps," for the Spanish national team. He was chosen to play in the 1986 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1988. In these tournaments, he played a total of eight matches.
His first game for Spain was on November 20, 1985. It was a friendly match against Austria in Zaragoza, and the score was 0–0.
Life After Football
After retiring from football, Reñones became involved in politics. He was elected to the city council of Marbella. He was part of a group called the Liberal Independent Group (GIL). This group was started by Jesús Gil, who was also the president of Atlético Madrid for a long time.
In 2006, the mayor of Marbella was arrested. Tomás then became the interim mayor for a short time.
