Torrecillas is a small area known as a barrio in the town of Morovis, Puerto Rico. It is located on the island of Puerto Rico. Torrecillas has eight smaller areas called sectors. In 2010, about 623 people lived there. A local office for USDA Rural Development is found in Torrecillas. This office helps support rural communities.

History of Torrecillas and Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War. This happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. In 1899, the United States government counted everyone living in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. The census showed that 572 people lived in Torrecillas barrio at that time.

In 2017, Hurricane Maria caused a lot of damage in Puerto Rico. The storm hit on September 20. Six months later, some parts of Torrecillas still did not have electricity. About 300 residents were affected by these power outages.
