Tosin Cole (born on 23 July 1992) is an English actor. He is well-known for his roles in many British TV shows and movies. He started his acting journey in shows like The Cut and EastEnders: E20. Later, he became a regular character as Neil Cooper in the soap opera Hollyoaks. He also played Ryan Sinclair in the popular science fiction show Doctor Who. In 2024, Cole starred in the Netflix series Supacell as a main character.

Early Life and Background
Tosin Cole was born in Florida, United States. His parents are from Nigeria. He grew up in New York City, New York. When he was 8 years old, his family moved to London, England. There, he went to Abbey Wood Secondary School in Greenwich. He decided to leave school before finishing his A-levels to focus on becoming an actor.
Even though Tosin Cole has both British and American citizenship, he sees himself as British.
Tosin Cole's Acting Career
Early Roles and Theatre Work
In 2009, Tosin Cole was part of a play called Wasted!. This play was a modern version of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. It was put on by Intermission Theatre, a group that helps teenagers stay away from crime. In 2010, Cole joined the cast of the BBC teen drama The Cut. He played the character of Noah Achebe in the show's third series. The next year, 2011, he acted in two short films called Me and My Dad and Jasmine.
Becoming a Soap Opera Star
Cole then got the role of Sol Levi in EastEnders: E20. This show was a spin-off from the well-known British soap opera EastEnders. For this role, Cole had to learn how to dance. He even performed his dance routine in front of the professional dance group Flawless in the show's final episode. He said this experience was "very stressful." Cole felt it was a great chance to work on E20 and praised the cast. He returned for the third series of the show.
After that, he joined the soap opera Hollyoaks as a regular character, playing Neil Cooper. Neil was one of six new characters added to the show. Cole played Neil from 2011 until his character died in a bus explosion in 2012. He also filmed a TV advertisement to help promote the new characters in the show.
Moving to Film and Other TV Shows
In 2013, Tosin Cole appeared in an episode of the BBC medical drama Holby City. He played his first movie role in Gone Too Far!, where he played Razer. He then had another film role in Second Coming. In 2014, he played Anthony in the miniseries The Secrets.
In 2015, Cole played Djimon Adomakoh in the ITV drama Lewis. He also appeared as Kobina in an episode of the historical series Versailles. That same year, Cole had a small part in the big movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He played an X-Wing pilot named Lt. Bastian.
Joining Doctor Who and Recent Work
On 4 October 2017, Cole starred in the short film Father of Man. He then played Amjad in the movie Unlocked. A big announcement came on 22 October 2017: Tosin Cole was cast in the eleventh series of Doctor Who. He played Ryan Sinclair, a companion to The Doctor, who was played by Jodie Whittaker. His role started in 2018. Cole left the show in 2021, with his last appearance in the New Year's Day special "Revolution of the Daleks".
In August 2022, it was announced that Tosin Cole would be a main character in Netflix's Supacell. This series was directed by Rapman. The six-episode series was released on 27 June 2024.
