Travon Walker (born December 18, 2000) is a professional American football player. He plays as a defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. He helped his college team win the 2022 National Championship. The Jaguars then chose him as the very first player in the 2022 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Football
Travon Walker was born in Thomaston, Georgia, on December 18, 2000. He went to Upson-Lee High School in his hometown. While in high school, he was a talented football player. He was even chosen to play in the 2019 All-American Bowl. After high school, he decided to play college football for the Georgia Bulldogs at the University of Georgia.
College Football Career

Freshman and Sophomore Years
As a freshman in 2019, he played in 12 games. He made 15 tackles and got 2.5 sacks. A sack is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. In 2020, his sophomore year, he played in nine games. He had 13 tackles, one sack, and one interception. An interception is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player.
National Championship Win
In 2021, his junior year, Walker became a starter at defensive tackle. He was a key part of the team that won the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship. This is one of the biggest championships in college football. After this successful season, he decided to enter the 2022 NFL draft.

Travon Walker was picked first overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2022 NFL draft. This means he was the very first player chosen by any team that year.
Signing with the Jaguars
On May 12, 2022, he signed his first professional contract. It was a four-year deal worth $37.4 million. This money was fully guaranteed, which means he was sure to get it.
Rookie Season (2022)
Walker made his NFL debut in a game against the Washington Commanders. In that game, he got his first NFL sack and his first NFL interception. During his first season, he played in 15 games and started 14 of them. He finished his rookie year with 3.5 sacks, 49 total tackles, one interception, two passes defended, and one forced fumble. A forced fumble is when a defensive player hits the ball carrier, causing them to drop the ball.
Second and Third Seasons (2023-2024)
In Week 5 of the 2023 season, he recovered his first fumble. This happened in a game against the Buffalo Bills. Later that season, in Week 16, he had a great game against the Carolina Panthers. He recorded two sacks and six tackles, helping his team win 26–0. Walker ended the 2023 season with 52 tackles, ten sacks, and two passes defended.
In the 2024 season, he continued to play well. He finished with 56 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He also recovered another fumble and even scored a touchdown after picking up a fumbled ball.
