Tremp is a town and a municipality in Catalonia, Spain. It is the main town of the Pallars Jussà region. Tremp is the largest municipality in Catalonia by land area. It covers almost a quarter of the entire Pallars Jussà region.
Tremp is quite unique because it's made up of five separate parts. These parts are all within the Pallars Jussà area. The main town of Tremp had about 5,961 people living there in 2023. It sits in the valley of the Noguera Pallaresa river, below the town of Talarn and the Talarn Dam. The biggest part of Tremp's land is west of the Noguera Pallaresa valley. It stretches all the way to the Noguera Ribagorçana river.
One part of Tremp is actually a separate piece of land (called an exclave) inside another municipality called el Pont de Suert. This is in the Alta Ribagorça region. To the east, the villages of Palau de Noguera, Suterranya, and Vilamitjana form the fourth part. The fifth and smallest part is the village of Puigcercós, which is south of Tremp. The C-13 road runs through the valley of the Noguera Pallaresa and serves the town.

Cool Places to Visit
- Les Serretes: This is a very important place near Vilamitjana. Scientists have found amazing dinosaur fossils here! They discovered parts of the second-biggest hadrosaur (a type of duck-billed dinosaur) ever found in Spain. It's the largest one found in Catalonia. They also found two teeth from meat-eating dinosaurs, which might belong to new types of dinosaurs.
This is a picture of a jawbone from a hadrosaur found at Les Serretes. You can see it today at the Museum of Isona.
