Tres Garantías is a small community in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is known for its efforts to protect nature. History of Tres Garantías
The people who live in Tres Garantías today originally came from many different states in Mexico. These include Veracruz, Yucatan, Campeche, Tabasco, Quintana Roo, Chiapas, Morelos, Guerrero, Michoacán, and Oaxaca. From 1943 until the early 1970s, they lived in a place called La Union. Then, in the early 1970s, they moved and settled in the area where Tres Garantías is now.

Tres Garantías is located in the southern part of Quintana Roo. It is part of the Othón P. Blanco municipality. The community's exact location is at 18°11′36″N 88°58′58″W.

How to Get There
You can reach Tres Garantías by a paved road that is about 36 kilometers (22 miles) long. This road connects to Federal Highway 186. This highway links the cities of Escárcega and Chetumal.
Water Sources (Hydrography)
Tres Garantías is in the "deep basin of the river." This area is part of Mexico's eastern slope. During the rainy season, water collects on the surface, forming small gaps or watery areas. Near the community, there are a few well-known lagoons, like Bacardi and Honda. People used to get their drinking water from Laguna Honda. There is also water underground, but it is deep below the surface. The main source of drinking water today is a well.
Land Features (Relief)
The community of Tres Garantías is on flat land, about 150 meters (492 feet) above sea level. Along the road, you might see areas called "ak'alché." These are flat pieces of land surrounded by slightly higher ground. These lower areas often form small ponds because the soil does not let water pass through easily.

On May 15th, the community celebrates the feast day of San Isidro. Sometimes, they even have a rodeo for this celebration. Another important day is Independence Day, celebrated with a parade by students. Christmas is also a big holiday, as many families gather together in Tres Garantías.
