Trinidad is a city in Henderson County, Texas, United States. It is located near the Trinity River, which is where the city gets its name. In 2020, about 860 people lived here.
A long time ago, when Texas was part of Spanish Texas, the town was called Santísima Trinidad de Salcedo.

Where is Trinidad, Texas?
Trinidad is located on the western side of Henderson County. The Trinity River forms the city's western border. This river also separates Trinidad from Navarro County, Texas.
The eastern edge of the city follows Cedar Creek. This creek flows into the Trinity River. Part of the city's northern boundary is near the dam of Cedar Creek Reservoir.
Texas State Highway 31 goes through Trinidad. If you go east on this highway, you'll reach Athens, which is about 14 miles away. Athens is the main city (county seat) of Henderson County. If you go west, you'll get to Corsicana in Navarro County, about 23 miles away.
Texas State Highway 274 also starts in Trinidad. It goes north along the west side of Cedar Creek Reservoir. This highway leads to Kemp, which is about 23 miles away.
The city covers a total area of about 15.1 square miles (39.2 square kilometers). A small part of this area, about 0.2 square miles (0.6 square kilometers), is covered by water.
