Patricia Gloria Goddard (born 23 December 1957) is a well-known British television presenter. She is famous for her talk show Trisha, which aired from 1998 to 2010. This show was first on ITV and later moved to Channel 5.

Before her talk show, Trisha hosted the Australian children's program Play School from 1987 to 1998. Since 2010, she has lived in the United States. There, she worked on the show Maury as an expert in solving conflicts. She also hosted an American version of her own talk show, The Trisha Goddard Show, from 2012 to 2014. More recently, since 2022, Goddard has presented You Are What You Eat. She currently lives in Connecticut, in the United States.

Early Life and Education

Trisha Goddard was born in London on 23 December 1957. Her mother, Agnes Fortune, was a nurse from Dominica. Trisha learned later in life that the man who raised her was not her biological father. She found this out after her mother passed away.

As a child, Trisha went to a private school in Tanzania. After that, she returned to England. She attended primary school in Heacham, Norfolk. Later, she went to Sir William Perkins's School in Chertsey, Surrey. This was a girls' grammar school at the time.

Trisha's Television Career

Trisha Goddard started her career as a flight attendant. This job led her to write travel articles for magazines. In the mid-1980s, she moved to Australia. There, she began a new career in television.

In Australia, she worked as a TV presenter. She was notably on ABC's The 7.30 Report. She also hosted the popular children's show Play School.

Hosting Her Own Talk Show

In 1998, Trisha returned to the United Kingdom. She became the host of a major daytime chat show on ITV called Trisha. This show was very popular and even won a BAFTA award. She also started her own TV production company, Town House TV.

In 2004, Trisha moved her show to Channel 5. The new show, also called Trisha Goddard, started in January 2005. It was similar to her old show. It focused on relationships, family problems, and people reuniting. In 2009, Channel 5 decided not to continue her contract due to financial reasons.

Trisha has appeared on many other TV shows. She was a regular guest on ITV's Loose Women several times. She also appeared in funny spoofs of her own show. In 2011, it was announced that an American version of her talk show would start. This show began in September 2012. However, it was canceled after two seasons in 2014.

Personal Life and Family

Trisha Goddard has three younger sisters: Pru, Paula, and Linda. Her youngest sister, Linda, faced mental health struggles and passed away in 1988. Trisha has said that this experience inspired her to become an advocate for mental health.

Relationships

Trisha has been married four times. Her first marriage was to Robert Nestdale in 1985. This marriage was short. She then met Mark Grieve, a TV producer, and they married in 1993. They had two children together. They separated in 1996.

Her third husband was Peter Gianfrancesco, who works in mental health services. They married in 1998 and divorced in 2017. In 2022, Trisha announced she was engaged to her partner, whom she calls 'Boo'. They got married in August of that year.

Health Journey

Trisha Goddard has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice. She was first diagnosed in 2008. The cancer was treated successfully at that time. In 2023, she received a second breast cancer diagnosis. She announced this in February 2024. She shared that this type of cancer is treatable but not curable. Trisha has spoken openly about her diagnosis.
