Trésor Osmar Kandol (born 30 August 1981) is a former professional footballer from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He played as a striker, which is a player whose main job is to score goals. He stopped playing full-time professional football in 2011.
During his career, Trésor played for many clubs. These included Luton Town, Leeds United, and Barnet in England. He also played for Albacete in Spain. Trésor was known for celebrating his goals with a somersault! His cousin, Lomana LuaLua, also did this. In Spain, Trésor was often called Kandola.

Trésor Kandol's Football Journey
Starting His Career in Football
Trésor Kandol began his football journey at Luton Town. He was a very promising young player there. He won the "young player of the year" award two times. He also set a record as the youngest player to play for the first team.
After Luton Town, he moved to AFC Bournemouth. Later, he played in non-league football for Thurrock. He became a fantastic goal scorer at Thurrock, scoring 79 goals in 110 games! This amazing performance helped him get noticed by bigger clubs. He then joined Dagenham & Redbridge and had a successful loan spell at Darlington.
Playing for Barnet
Trésor joined Barnet and quickly made a big impact. On 18 November 2006, he scored a hat-trick (three goals in one game) against Rochdale. One of his goals was a brilliant lob over the goalkeeper from the halfway line!
He was the top scorer in the FA Cup with six goals that season. His strong performances caught the eye of several bigger clubs. These included Crystal Palace, Cardiff City, and Leeds United.
Time at Leeds United
After scoring 18 goals in 21 games for Barnet, Trésor joined Leeds United. This was a big move to a Championship club. He joined them on a loan deal in November 2006.
He made his first appearance as a substitute. His first full game at home was special because he scored his first goal for Leeds. In January 2007, his move to Leeds United became permanent.
After Leeds was moved down to the third tier of English football, Trésor scored a winning goal in the very last minute against Tranmere Rovers. He formed a great partnership with fellow striker Jermaine Beckford. Trésor even won the player of the month award for August and September. He scored 15 goals that season as Leeds reached the playoffs.
Loan Spells from Leeds
In 2008, Trésor went on loan to Millwall. He scored a goal just 13 seconds into his first game for them! He scored many goals for Millwall, helping them climb up the league table.
After his loan at Millwall, he joined Charlton Athletic on another loan. He scored his first goals for Charlton in a game against Watford. Charlton wanted to sign him permanently, but Leeds United decided they wanted him back.
Leaving Leeds United
Before the 2009–10 season, Trésor was told he might not have a future at Leeds. However, he played well for the reserve team, even scoring a hat-trick against Scunthorpe United's reserves. He also scored goals when he came on as a substitute in league games.
His time at Leeds was sometimes interrupted by injuries. He decided it was time for a new challenge. In August 2010, Trésor left Leeds United by agreement.
After Leeds United
After leaving Leeds, Trésor became a free agent. In September 2010, he signed with Albacete, a team in the Spanish second division. However, his time in Spain was short because of injuries. He left the club in November 2010.
In October 2012, Trésor signed for Hampton & Richmond Borough. He played for them for a short time before leaving in November.
International Career
Trésor Kandol played for his country, the DR Congo national team. He earned his first and only international appearance in 2008. This was in a friendly game against Algeria, which the DR Congo team won 1-0.
Personal Life
Trésor Kandol was born in Banga. His cousins, Lomana LuaLua and Kazenga LuaLua, are also professional footballers. Trésor was well-known for celebrating his goals by doing a backflip.
