Tuscarawas (pronounced TUS-kə-RAH-wəs) is a small town, also called a village, in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, United States. It was first known as Trenton. In 2020, about 1,035 people lived there.

History of Tuscarawas Village
Early Beginnings and Founding
The village of Tuscarawas has a long history. It was founded in 1756 by a Native American leader. His name was Tamaqua, also known as King Beaver.
Tamaqua was a chief of the Lenape people. He started the town on the Tuscarawas River. He lived there until he passed away in 1771.
Name Origin and Post Office
The name Tuscarawas comes from the Tuscarora Indians. They were a Native American tribe.
A post office opened in Tuscarawas in 1828. This means people could send and receive mail there a very long time ago.
