Tyrone Javar Scott (born March 27, 1999) is an American professional football player. He plays as a wide receiver for the DC Defenders team in the United Football League (UFL). Before becoming a professional, he played college football at Central Michigan and Missouri State universities.

Early Life and High School Football
Ty Scott grew up in Estill, South Carolina. He went to Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. While playing for Jenkins, Ty was an amazing wide receiver. He caught 106 passes for a total of 2,165 yards. He also scored 22 touchdowns, which was a school record. Because of his great skills, he was chosen for the all-region team. Ty decided to play college football at Central Michigan University. He chose Central Michigan over other schools like Georgia Southern and Boston College.
College Football Career
Ty Scott played college football for two different teams. He started at Central Michigan and later transferred to Missouri State.
Playing for Central Michigan
Ty Scott joined Central Michigan in 2018. He "red-shirted" his first year, which means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This allowed him to gain experience without using up a year of his college eligibility. In 2019, he played in ten games. He caught 37 passes for 650 yards and scored five touchdowns. In the 2020 season, he played in only two games. He caught four passes for 33 yards. In March 2021, Ty decided to transfer to a different university.
Playing for Missouri State
In April 2021, Ty Scott moved to Missouri State University. He quickly became a key player for the Missouri State Bears. He set new school records for the most catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns in a season. By the end of the season, he had 66 catches for 1,110 yards and eight touchdowns. He caught a career-high ten passes in a game against North Dakota. He also gained 174 receiving yards in a game against Dixie State. After his great season, Ty was named to the First-team All-Missouri Valley Conference. This is a big honor for college players. In the 2022 season, he continued to play well. He scored a career-high three touchdowns in one game.
Professional Football Career
After college, Ty Scott began his professional football journey. He has played for a few different teams.
Time with the Kansas City Chiefs
In 2023, Ty Scott was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. This means he was not chosen in the NFL Draft but was still offered a contract. He was later released by the Chiefs in May 2023. He re-signed with them in July but was released again in August 2023.
First Time with the DC Defenders
On October 20, 2023, Ty Scott signed with the DC Defenders. This team plays in the United Football League (UFL). During the 2024 UFL season, he had a good year. He caught 25 passes for 418 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Short Time with the Seattle Seahawks
On July 25, 2024, Ty Scott signed with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. He was released by the team in August. However, he was later signed to their practice squad on September 10. He was released from the practice squad just three days later.
Second Time with the DC Defenders
On December 14, 2024, Ty Scott re-signed with the DC Defenders. He was placed on injured reserve on April 14, 2025. This means he was unable to play due to an injury. He was activated from injured reserve on June 4, 2025, and is now active with the team.
