Tyler Fredrickson, born on February 26, 1981, is a former American football player. He was a placekicker, which is a player who kicks field goals and extra points. He is also known as a TV personality.
He played in preseason games for NFL teams like the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders in 2007. Preseason games are practice games before the main season starts. During his time with the Oakland Raiders, he kicked a 49-yard field goal against the Arizona Cardinals. He also handled all the kicking and punting in a game against the Seattle Seahawks.
In 2008, he joined the Los Angeles Avengers in the Arena Football League. He played in their last eight games of that season. Later, in 2015, Tyler was a contestant on the TV reality show Survivor. He finished in seventh place on the show. Today, he works in the film and TV industry.

Early Life and High School
Tyler Fredrickson grew up in Goleta, California. His parents are Mark Fredrickson and Mimi Lessett. He has a sister named Taryn.
He went to Dos Pueblos High School. There, he was a talented athlete. He played both football and soccer. In football, he was named a top punter in his senior year. As a placekicker, he once kicked three field goals in one game. One of these was the winning kick with only four seconds left. In soccer, he was recognized as a top player for four years.
College Football Career
Tyler went to the University of California, Berkeley. He played for the Golden Bears team. For three seasons, he was the team's starting punter. A punter kicks the ball far down the field to the other team.
In his senior year, 2003, he also became the team's placekicker. He kicked 198 punts during his college career. He averaged 39.4 yards per kick. As a placekicker, he made two very long field goals. One was from 51 yards and another from 53 yards. These were some of the longest field goals in the Golden Bears' history.

NFL Preseason Games
After the 2004 NFL Draft, Tyler signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He was released during their training camp. A year later, he joined the Denver Broncos for training camp. He then played in NFL Europe for the Amsterdam Admirals.
In 2006, he signed with the Broncos again but was released. Soon after, the Dallas Cowboys picked him up. He kicked a 49-yard field goal in a preseason game against the New Orleans Saints. Competing on Survivor
In 2014, Tyler Fredrickson was a contestant on Survivor: Worlds Apart. This was the 30th season of the popular American TV show Survivor. The season first aired on February 25, 2015.
Tyler lasted 32 out of 39 days on the show. He was the 12th person voted out. He finished in seventh place overall. He also became the fifth member of the jury. The jury decides who wins the game.
At the start of the game, Tyler was on the Masaya tribe. He formed an alliance with two other players. Later, when the tribes switched, he joined a new alliance. After the tribes merged into one, Tyler was part of a six-person alliance. This group worked together to vote out other players.
However, one player, Mike Holloway, kept winning immunity challenges. This meant he could not be voted out. When Mike used a special Hidden Immunity Idol, Tyler was voted out instead. His closest ally, Carolyn Rivera, voted against him. She later explained that she saw Tyler as a big threat to win the game. Tyler seemed to understand her reason. He still voted for Mike Holloway to win the season.

During his last year at college, Tyler Fredrickson made a documentary. It was called Countdown to Kickoff 2003. This film was about the 2003 California Golden Bears football team. He directed, edited, and appeared in the documentary.
In 2010, he earned a second master's degree. He studied at the Peter Stark Producing Program. This program is part of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Before appearing on Survivor, he worked at Creative Artists Agency (CAA). This is a well-known company in Los Angeles that represents people in entertainment and sports.
