College Basketball Journey
Tyson Wheeler played college basketball for four years. He was part of the University of Rhode Island Rams men's basketball team. He played there from 1994 to 1998.
Leading the Rams
During his time at Rhode Island, Tyson was a key player. In 1998, he helped lead the Rams to a big achievement. Along with his teammate Cuttino Mobley, they reached the Elite Eight in the 1998 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. This is a very important stage in college basketball.
Professional Playing Career
After college, Tyson Wheeler became a professional basketball player. He was chosen in the 1998 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors. He was the 47th player picked overall.
NBA Experience
Tyson Wheeler played one game in the NBA. This was during the 1999 season with the Denver Nuggets. In that game, he scored four points and made two assists in just three minutes of play.
