Uintah (pronounced yoo-IN-tuh) is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. It is a smaller city with a population of 1,322 people, according to the 2010 census. Uintah is part of the larger Ogden–Clearfield area. Even though it was once a town, it is now considered a fifth-class city under Utah state law.

Geography of Uintah
Uintah is located right where the Weber Canyon opens up. It is about 5 miles south of Ogden and 25 miles north of Salt Lake City.
Natural Borders
The Weber River forms the southern and western edges of Uintah. To the north, you'll find the Uintah Bench. The impressive Wasatch Mountains are to the east. The city covers about three square miles. This area is known for strong east winds that blow out of Weber Canyon.
Uintah's Climate
Uintah has a type of weather called a humid continental climate. This means it has big changes in temperature throughout the year. Summers are warm to hot, and sometimes humid. Winters are cold, and can even be very cold.
History of Uintah
Long before European settlers arrived, the Uintah area was a popular spot for Native Americans. They used it for camping and hunting as they traveled through Weber Canyon.
Early Native American Presence
Archaeologists have found signs that Native Americans lived here at least 5,000 years ago. The city's name, Uintah, comes from the Weber Ute Band of Shoshone Indians. They lived in this area when white settlers first arrived.
