Life and Work in Umiken
Jobs and Commuting in Umiken
In the year 2000, there were 525 people living in Umiken who had jobs. Most of these people, about 472 of them (nearly 90%), traveled outside Umiken to work. This means they commuted to other towns or cities for their jobs.
At the same time, 45 people traveled into Umiken to work. These were people who lived elsewhere but had jobs within the municipality. Umiken itself had 98 jobs available, which were positions requiring at least six hours of work per week. This shows that more people left Umiken for work than came into it.
