History of Union Creek

Union Creek was a popular camping spot a long time ago. This was in the early 1900s. It was on the main wagon road. This road connected the Rogue Valley to Crater Lake and places further east.

The Union Creek Resort

By the 1920s, the Union Creek Resort was built. It had a main lodge and cabins for guests. The first lodge burned down in 1937. A new one was built just one year later. This lodge is still used today.

How Union Creek Got Its Name

The community of Union Creek got its name from a local stream. This stream is called Union Creek. The creek itself was named after Union Peak. Union Peak is a mountain located in Crater Lake National Park.
