Union Hill-Novelty Hill is located in the northern part of King County. You can find it at these coordinates: 47.678674 degrees North and -122.049198 degrees West.

To the west, it shares a border with the city of Redmond. A part of Redmond, called the Redmond Watershed Preserve, is actually surrounded by the northern section of Union Hill-Novelty Hill. North of the community is the Cottage Lake area.

Washington State Route 202 runs along the southern edge of the community. This road follows the valleys of Evans Creek and Patterson Creek. To the southeast, you'll find the Ames Lake area. Downtown Seattle is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southwest.

The total area of Union Hill-Novelty Hill is about 63.0 square kilometers (24.3 square miles). Most of this area, about 62.8 square kilometers (24.2 square miles), is land. The rest, about 0.2 square kilometers (0.1 square miles), is water.
