History of Urbana
Urbana was officially founded in 1847. Before it was called Urbana, this area had two other names: Hoosier Point and Marysville.
Geography of Urbana
Urbana covers about 1.81 square miles (4.68 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
The city is located roughly halfway between two larger cities, Cedar Rapids and Waterloo. Major highways like Interstate 380 and Iowa Highway 150 meet in Urbana. This makes it easy to travel to and from the city.
