She was the first woman to become the Chief Election Commissioner of India. This role involves making sure elections are fair. She also became the first woman Governor of Karnataka. Early Life and Education

V. S. Ramadevi was born in a place called Chebrolu in Andhra Pradesh, India. This was on January 15, 1934. This date is special because it's also the day of the Sankranti harvest festival.

She went to school in a town called Eluru. After finishing her studies, she earned degrees in M.A. and Law (LLB). She then became a lawyer, registering her name with the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Secretary General of Rajya Sabha

Governor of States
