Valentina's Early Life and Family

Valentina Prudskova was born in a place called Yershov, in what was then the Russian SFSR. Her mother, Zinaida Nikolaevna, worked as a farmer and took care of their home.

Her father, Aleksandr Petrovich, worked on the railways. He also bravely fought in two big wars: the Winter War and World War II. Sadly, he passed away in 1950 when he was only 40 years old.

After her father's death, Valentina's family moved to a city called Saratov. It was there that Valentina started her journey in fencing. She even trained with her cousin!
